Day out at thorpe Park- July 17th 2012

Today, I went to Thorpe Park with my school. I was really looking forward to my day out. Now mot everything met my full expectations. Below I am going to list so of the disappointments today:

- Queue Boards did not show queue times all day
- Rude Staff
- X:/No way out breaking down

Ok, so here is my description of my day:

We entered the park, and we could straight away see how busy the day will be. Tonnes of people were goimg through the turnstiles, which meant we queued approximatly 15 minutes for us to get in. I went to the toilets in the dome which are not very nice in quality, and defenitly needs cleaning more often and needs to be refurbished. The smell was atroshious and did not meet my expectations.

I ran to the Swarm, where we had to judge the queueline, and seemed quite short (not knowing that theres more queue on the other side). The operator often told us the queue times and when we joint the queue time was approximatly 50 minutes. I was fine with this. Well, not until the actual queue time was 90 minutes. The theming is excellent. (especially the station). As soon as the car went up the lift hill, I was so nervous. The height was unbelievable. However, the whole ride is fun. A really fun ride. Lots of loops and near misses.

After this ride, I ran to loggers leap, as my friend has asthma and felt breathless. We queued 10 minutes and was defenitly worth it. The safety lights were on which was a bit off putting however was fun. No water actually went down the hill. (is this normal).

Before i continue, Slammer, Storm Surge and Rumba Rapids were closed. Storm Surge and Rumba rapids re-opened later in the day.

We then went over to Saw Island, to see the queue for Saw the ride was coming out of the enterance, so we decided not to ride until later.

We then went on X:/ no way out. Or should I say X:/ No way in. The queue was approximatly 45 minutes. We queued concidering this was the lowest queues in the park. I sat on the ride, and the ride car would not move. I asked the ride operator if we would get temporary fastrack and she says "NO!". I said ok to be polite. That was a waste of 45 minutes really, which made me fed up.

I then had Pizza Hut. The pizza's were delicious. It took 15 minutes to get inside the restaurant. When we got in the reataurant, we got shouted at by waiters and chefs to move quicker amd eat faster. It was rediculous. Every 5 mins we would have a member of staff shouting in our ear. Whem I went to get my pizza I queues approximatly 15 mins to even get the pizza. A man got threatened by a chef that he would punch him if he doesnt move. How can this be acceptable.

We then went on Rumba Rapids as a gental ride after dinner. Did not get wet at all. Water was not working in cave. I queued 30 mins for this ride. I have queues this long before but it was defenitly not at the standard as usual.

We then went back to saw and the queue board was actually working. It said "Your waiting time is 175 minutes". They had put an extra queueline in the saw area. We unfortunatly did not ride swarm on that day.

I ran to colossus and the operator said the queue is 40 minutes. Well we queued 105 minutes!. However, the ride is fantastic. Really good fun, fast and most of all a lot of loops.

I then went on X:/no way out, and finally it worked. A fantastic ride. (I dont understand why people complain). It is so good. I do not understand why there are unexpected stops, as they are pointless). I queued 20 mins and I felt it was worth it.

Storm Surge re-opened at 5:00, which was when our coach left thorpe park :(. It was a great day, and I cannot wait to return next year!

Best time to visit a Theme Park is out of season, glad you enjoyed Swarm, it is a very enjoyable but short coaster. I hope X:NWO can be razed soon & something better appears.

Thanks for the report Sam. Did you get any photos? :)

The thing about Log Flumes and water on the drop, is that the water is there for effect - you don't actually need water for the flume to work.
